When we first arrived on the Navajo Reservation in 1988, we were struck by both its beauty and its challenges. In the area where we served, the post office was the most remote in the entire United States, and within a 15-mile radius, there were just 1,500 people. Even today, nearly 35% of Navajo homes still do not have electricity, and 51% have no running water. Yet, in this very place, God gave us the privilege of planting a church and seeing Navajo leadership established for His glory.

In 2000, our son Justin contracted a respiratory virus that left him with cold-air-induced asthma. Seeking the warm climate he needed, our family relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, in 2006. What we discovered there amazed us—more than 25,000 Navajo people were already living in the Phoenix Valley. Today, that number has grown to nearly 40,000, creating an incredible urban mission field.

We believe that the 17 years we spent in the interior of the reservation were God’s way of preparing us. By learning the language, culture, and traditions of the Navajo people, He gave us the foundation we now draw upon as we minister to this unique urban population.

At present, we are in the process of re-establishing Navajo Fellowship Baptist Church in Page, Arizona. One of our current goals is to raise funds for a parsonage that will serve a future full-time Navajo pastor. We are also prayerfully seeking to increase our monthly support, as the cost of living has significantly risen.

Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us? If you would like us to present our ministry to your church or if you would like to be added to our mailing list, we would be honored to connect with you.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer and support as we continue to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Navajo Nation, both on the reservation and in the growing urban communities.
